The Good Word of God

The Bible is a much more complex book than some people think. The verse from Hebrews is a good example. The term used here is "good word of God". It only appears in the Bible this one time and it is in Hebrews 6,5. How does this verse show the complexity of the scriptures? The answer is the word that is used for 'word'. Here is the verse I am referring to:

HEB 6,5

And have tasted the "good word of God", and the powers of the world to come,

In the Bible's New Testament there are two words used for 'word', one is 'logos' and one is 'rhema'. In the verse from Hebrews the word for 'GOOD word' of God is 'rhema'. The word rhema is in the New Testament 70 times and was translated 56 times as 'word', 'saying' 9 times, 'thing' 3 times, 'no thing + 3756 one time and not translated 1 time.

Rhema means that which is or has been uttered by the living voice. There is little, or no reference in the definitions to a written word. The word Rhema is Greek 4487 if you would like to see the translations and verses this word appears in.

So, what is the importance of the word rhema? It is a word spoken by a living voice... and God is l speaking today more than ever.
